DARE - Our 5th National Conference

Amman, December 22nd 2008

AIESEC Jordan, a Chapter of the world’s largest student run organization for leadership development, will be holding its National Conference in Amman, Jordan from December 25-27, 2008.

AIESEC in Jordan organized its 5th National Conference in Amman, with the support of Ahli Bank, Amman Chamber of Industry and also having Akhtaboot as a content development partner for a part of the conference program.

Each and every national conference of AIESEC is considered as a milestone for the organization. Change is the main element of the organization established in Jordan in 2006, but globally existing already for 60 years. Each and every year a new generation of young and passionate people are joining and getting introduced to AIESEC. This national conference welcomed the 5th generation of members, hoping to gain a valuable experience in leadership and management.

The concept of the conference was built around the future of the membership of AIESEC. Also as the slogan of the conference: DARE, suggest we would like to see our membership facing the issues currently present in our society. With ¾ of the population of Jordan under 30 it is extremely important that we invest into our future: the youth. That 100 passionate people who were attending the conference are representing a bit of Jordan’s future. Being a group of people willing to do something for their own development and for the development of society, the AIESEC Jordan National Conference could hopefully serve as a starting point for tomorrow’s leaders.

This is why we would like to also thank our supporters, Ahli Bank and Amman Chamber of Industry, in helping us making the conference happen. Their contribution is not just helping us succeed, but we hope with this we can all contribute to Jordan’s future.

The program of the conference was comprising of basic organizational understanding, along with gaining functional skills on most business areas, but not forgetting the career development of the participants. Besides this we prepared a handful of Jordanians for their international internship abroad, as one of the core activities of AIESEC is to run this program, living a valuable cultural

and professional experience to selected university graduates.

During the course of the conference we were glad to see many of our partners visiting us on our Gala Dinner Saturday night. More than 20 representatives from our Supervisory Group and from among our partners were present there to celebrate the achievements of the last half year and to recognize the fastest growing and most performing university students from among the membership.
